Super Bowl Champion, Nick Eason, to retire after 10 NFL Seasons
Article by Southeast Georgia Today
After 10 years in the NFL, which includes winning a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers, former Toombs County Bulldog Nick Eason has decided to retire. Eason who had earlier said that he was going to play one more year with the Arizona Cardinal’s before hanging it up, said that “it is just good timing for me to do it now, I have an opportunity to coach and that is something that I want to do and things fell in place and so the time is right.”
Eason who was drafted in the 4th round by the Denver Broncos in 2003, has accepted an assistant coaching position with the Cleveland Browns, a team he played for from 2004 until 2006. He got the position through the NFL’s Minority Coaching Program, the same program that Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin came through and Nick say’s that “he looks at it as an opportunity that God has given him and is excited about the new journey.”
The Clemson Tiger grad, which played his last two years in the league with the Arizona Cardinals, ends his career with 128 tackles, 7 sacks and 1 forced fumble.
